点评：This is a really interesting place to visit. There are several aspects of Darwin's world to engage with. The restored rooms, accompanied by a complimentary audio guide narrated mainly by David Attenborough, are excellent. Yes, there is a Study, Dining Room, Billiard Room, Bedroom, etc. They have not had an excessive makeover, so there is a good atmosphere. Most of the upstairs is devoted to explaining Darwin's work, travels, writings, and associates.
It was also a pleasure to see the gardens fully functional, and some effort has been made (no doubt by a large team of volunteers) to make this as authentic as possible. The key garden tour narrator is Andrew Marr, who also adds to the experience.
There were two aspects that could be improved. The catering arrangements are at best mediocre, and the admission charge is substantial enough to discourage some who would greatly benefit from visiting.
