Breathtakingly Dramatic Scenery!
Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument的点评
点评：We thought we had thoroughly investigated the area before our visit, but not until we asked a few locals did we really understand the scope of this National Monument! Our first day in Escalante, we were a little disappointed as we tried to explore a few of the highlights in the area, but we found the hikes and trails to be unmarked! Those included the Big Horn Canyon Trail and the Posey Lake Outlook trail. Gerting to both hikes, we drove on bumpy gravel roads (which we were aware of) to find no signage for either trail. We used all-trails to navigate Horn Canyon, but we found it very hard to follow the seldom hiked trail, and we turned back before reaching the slot canyon because we were worried about hiking out after dark.
The next day was much more pleasant as we drove through the extensive monument from Escalante to Boulder and back again. The scenery was breathtaking and, at times, otherworldly! We also found the Lower Calf Creek Trail (6 miles round-trip) to be not only well marked but a beautiful hike into the waterfall! We are so glad that we made this two day stop in Escalante Grand Staircase National Monument! Our stay at the Escalante Yurts was also great!!
