点评：My wife and I joined about 100 other people on the six-hour Classic Kenai Fjords Park Tour. Our boat was named the Aialik (named, I think, after one of the glaciers we visited) and our captain was Captain Greg. All I can say is “Wow, what a day!” We saw a lot of wildlife, including orcas, humpback whales, Stellar Seals, harbor seals, mountain goats and a lot of different birds — including the Horned Puffin and the Crested Puffin. We are active birders and we added eight birds to our 250+ life list.
Captain Greg and his crew were informative and attentive. We experienced practically every weather system I think possible within a six-hour time span — from clouds, bright sunshine, driving rain, lightning, brisk wind and misty clouds. However, the boat afforded protection from all of the elements and at one time I saw one of Captain Greg’s crew members actually wiping away the rain from the windows so we could see better.
However, as much as I like birds and sea mammals, the glaciers were clearly the highlight of the day. We even witnessed a glacier calving! This day was fantastic and we would definitely do this again without hesitation. Kudos to Captain Greg and his crew.
