点评：We took a tour of the main Parker Ranch house and the original ranch house that has been moved close-by. The history of the Ranch and what has become of it since the last heir set up a Foundation is long, storied and goes back to Kamehameha's rule.
It is well documented in the main house.
The biography and analysis of Richard Smart's life and final management of the ranch is easily available throughout Waimea, in addition to his artifacts at the main house.
This is perhaps a 90 minute stop that covers the history, personalities and culture of what was once the largest ranch in the US.
Be sure to go to the Paniolo Preservation Society's museum at Parker's old Pukulani Stables, close-by, for a really engaging review of the Paniolos, their cowboy culture and it's successes, both in US rodeo and on the various Hawaiian ranches. It's a sort of Paniolo Hall of Fame and is surprisingly absorbing, even if you're not a cowboy!
