点评：Our hotel was right in this district, so we had quite a few opportunities to walk around and explore it whenever possible during our 4-day stay.
We were informed that it was formerly filled with warehouses and railroad yards. Today, it is noted for its art galleries, murals, upscale businesses, high-rise condos, fancy restaurants and high-end markets. One of the most famous buildings is that of Powell Books.
During our daily walk to the restaurants, we passed by Tanner Springs Park. This is a natural re-created area featuring wetlands, a walking path and a creek filled with water lilies. We also saw the rail car go by several times.
The Train Station is a cute old-fashioned building with a clock tower that stands out in the day as well as in the night.
We felt safe walking around. Still, we are tourists, so we were careful to return to our hotel quite early in the evening.
