点评:For me it's the exterior and the gardens that are the highlight of the visit. Whilst the building itself is similar to a lot of architecture in the UK, it's the fact that this was the former seat of government covering 20% of world's population that is astounding and adds to its stature.
The views and the gardens are also interesting.
Unfortunately the indoor tour doesn't live up to the exterior. This Victorian mansion is now home to the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies which means that the tour is restricted to only 4 rooms, the displays are like those from more 'traditional' museums and we couldn't really hear the guide very well since the group was very large.
The on-site shop only really sells books from the institute i.e. the offerings don't really connect with the lodge's history.
It's still worth a visit though.
