点评:You can't visit Independence Hall without visiting Independence National Historical Park. One is situated within the other. Get it? So why would TripAdvisor delete a review of the 55-acre park that comprises many of Philadelphia's most visited historic sites? Of course, no explanation. So let's try again. Located at 143 South 3rd Street, within the Old City and Society Hill neighborhoods, Independence National Historical Park has been described as "America's most historic square mile" because of its abundance of historic landmarks. Most of the park's historic structures are located in the vicinity of the four landscaped blocks between Chestnut, Walnut, 2nd and 6th streets. The centerpiece of the park is Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution were debated and adopted by America's Founding Fathers in the late 18th century. But there are so many other preserved sites that are associated with the American Revolution and the nation's founding history. There is Carpenter's Hall, where the First Continental Congress met in 1774. Old City Hall, which housed the U.S. Supreme Court from 1790 to 1800. Congress Hall, which housed the U.S. House of Representatives on its first floor and the U.S. Senate on its second floor, also from 1790 to 1800. Another popular destination is the Liberty Bell Center, which contains the Liberty Bell, an iconic symbol of American independence. And Franklin Court, where Benjamin Franklin's house once stood and the present-day location of a Franklin museum and the U.S. Postal Service Museum. Another interesting attraction is the National Constitution Center, a state-of-the-art museum dedicated to the study of the U.S. Constitution. The park was designated a U.S. National Historic Landmark District in 1966 and a U.S. National Historical Park in 1948.
