Fun event, but bring your lunch.

点评：We went on the fall foliage scenic ride with the miner’s lunch. The train ride and history of the area was so good. We had an opportunity to explore the Blue Heron coal mining camp at the end of the line before we headed back to the station. I was not expecting how fascinating the camp was and how well laid out it was for visitors. So interesting! I gave the experience 4 stars instead of 5 because of the lunch. True to the advertisement, it was a miner’s lunch…sandwich, chips, drink, and a moonpie. However, there was no mayonnaise or mustard for the sandwich, and the bread was dry from being kept cold. The concession stand was not open at the coal camp ; the ranger told us the lady who did the stand decided not to come in that day. No water or drinks available! We found out on the train from those who have been on the ride before that we could have brought our own lunch and not paid for the lunch. That was not listed on the website that I saw. I recommend the scenic train, but bring your lunch and plenty of snacks/drinks.
