The facility itself feels poorly maintained and outdated, with machinery from the 1960s that’s visibly unused. The steep, narrow access road adds to the impracticality — it’s hard to imagine any real transport of harvested tea happening here today.
It’s a shame, because the setting and the history could have been preserved as a small heritage site or demonstration factory. Instead, it now operates more like a display and a souvenir stop.
If you’re expecting to see genuine tea manufacturing or to buy authentic Seychelles-grown tea, you will be disappointed. Hopefully the management or local authorities will restore this beautiful place someday — it deserves better.
