Lovely displays of tulips and flowers in the gardens of Morton Hall

点评：booked for Bloms tulip festival over May bank holiday weekend - and attended on Sunday afternoon. our first choice had been for Monday but it was fully booked. Our first time at this venue but have attended the tulip festival at Pashley Manor in 2023. Parking on very soft ground protected with metal mats made this accessible and temporary paving areas covered the vast muddy field making it much safer to walk on. Guides at the start scanned our tickets and explained the layout of the gardens and event.
We decided as it was mid afternoon to have something to eat first so headed to the marquee with catering. Enjoyed quiche with salad - ordered tea with meal but it didn't arrive. when requested, a drink looking black more like black coffee arrived so queried whether it was tea and when the waitress returned, told it was tea. it wasn't very pleasant - so strong and stewed. however the lunch with potato salad, coleslaw and salad was fine.
Returned to the gardens to the wildflower meadow, then around the ponds then into the tulip areas. although some had clearly taken a battering with recent rain/wind, they were still wonderful in their colours, groupings amongst camellias, and other flowers. the costumes on display from Royal Shakespeare theatre, card sales and marquees displaying Bloms bulbs to order showed the vast array and variety of tulips from this award winning grower.
Having ordered bulbs for many years from them (originally via Malvern show then catalogues) they are always reliable for delightful blooms. Leaving in the afternoon after seeing everything was well organised with parking monitors/road traffic operators displaying stop/go signage as the road was closed for the public. all in all, a well organised and worthwhile visit.
