Carfax - our favourite escape room yet!

点评：We are a family of 5 escape room fans who have racked up quite a few different rooms in different venues and towns and Carfax is by far our favourite yet. From ringing the doorbell at the plain looking shop front door, you walk into another world - like stepping back in time! The reception is stunning with theming from the minute you walk in, the games masters were friendly and enthusiastic (which makes a huge difference to any escape room experience) and the instructions clear. The walk down into the caves is such a different experience and the decor and theming in the room was brilliant. Not to give any spoilers but it’s a really detailed room(s!) with the puzzles very well thought out, and the story flows really well. Unlike the majority of rooms we have done elsewhere it isn’t just a series of codes to open padlocks, which was a very pleasant change - the puzzles really get you thinking and you have to work as a team to come up with solutions. Not for the easily spooked as there were a couple of creepy moments, but in a really good way, and any fans of the story of Dracula will love it!!
There are lockers for your belongings, a fab set up for team photos afterwards, and it was lovely and warm in the caves despite the freezing cold weather outside.
Definitely not accessible - you need to be ok with steep steps and small enclosed spaces but if you are generally fit you won’t have any problems.
A big shout out to Neve our Games Master who was brilliantly enthusiastic and really set the scene, and continued the mood with her delivery of clues when needed.
All in all a brilliant experience and we will be back to do the other rooms soon.
