点评:What an amazing place - UNESCO for a reason... this is the oldest Neolithic site on earth; 7,000 years older than Stonehenge, thousands of years before any religion and a place that will change history.
Göbeklitepe has 20 other stone enclosures with more than 200 pillars underneath the mound, yet to be unearthed...
This site is 1 of 10 "TEPEs" in the area, with only 2 being excavated: Göbeklitepe and Karahan (This one is older but not open to the public).
Ensure you also visit the tourist information/museum - this explains in a lot more detail than the site itself what Göbeklitepe is, it houses artifacts and videos that explain in "real" terms, going through time and history to where we are today.
Whatever it is, it's impressive and the tourism authority have done an excellent job at maintaining the site, protecting it but allowing man to visit and appreciate what our ancestors have created.
I can't wait to see what is excavated next!
€21 euros for tourists and 70tl for locals
