点评：I think Cane Bay was my favorite beach on St. Croix. It doesn't have the pure white sand like the beach on Buck Island and doesn't have the vibe of Rainbow Beach but it's wild, beautiful and feels a bit like a lost location. We went on a Saturday and still there were only around 50 to 60 people on the whole long length of beach.
It has lots of great trees shading the beach so you can dash out for some sun before hiding under the trees all while watching the crabs scuttle across the sand. When you decide to head for the water it is a quick trip to get in chest deep but then the water plateaus out and there is a reef that curves around the bay only about 15 yards from shore.
If you want to snorkel it's really not that technical you do need to walk out the old boat ramp to avoid the coral and lots of sea urchins in the area. But then you can snorkel about and view the undersea creatures. I will note as others have that it's easier to go to your right (East) and then come back to the boat ramp. If you go left, which I did for about 50 yards it's lots more work to get back to the ramp to come in. If you are adventurous you can even snorkel out to where the Puerto Rico trench drops down over 10,000 feet. I didn't snorkel out that far as the waves were pretty high the day I was there but in a bit calmer water I'd have been very confident doing so; especially if you have a float vest.
Note that this beach is a bit more remote than others on St. Croix. You have to drive on an isolated road along the north shore to get there. There are no official signs but you will know you are there when you find all the other cars and a few places to eat. It's a really long beach but I'd recommend the eastern end over the western end.
