点评：Geysir is a geothermal area along Rt 35 along the famous Golden Circle in Haukadalur Valley in Iceland. There is plenty of parking (750kr for regular vehicle, payable through Parka app), visitor centre, several restaurants, hotel, campsite and self-service petrol station at Geysir. Easy to spend 45 minutes to an hour enjoying the unique landscape, geysir eruptions and geothermal activity at this very popular sightseeing location.
Geysir takes it name from the now dormant Great Geysir which until the early 20th-century would erupt to great heights in the sky. While the Great Geysir only erupts on rare occasions these days, usually following earthquakes. There is another geysir called Strokkur here that regularly spouts every 5-10 minutes, reaching a height of up to 20-30 metres. This drawls fair sized crowds and because of its fairly predictable eruption patterns, is fairly easy to photograph.
In addition to seeing Strokkur, there are a number of bubbling pools, steaming vents, mud pools and mineral encrusted grounds that make the area rather beautiful to walk around and see as well.
