Must See in Curaçao, walking distance from ship
Maritime Museum Curacao的点评
Hidden Gem Alert!
After finishing our cruise excursion, we still had time to explore before heading back to the ship. While wandering across the Queen Emma Bridge and through the colorful shopping district, we spotted a yellow building labeled Maritime Museum — and decided to check it out on a whim.
What a great decision.
The museum has three floors of maritime and Curaçao history, with beautifully displayed artifacts and informative signage in three languages (including English — thank you!). There’s even a spiral staircase that makes the whole experience fun (except for my husband who doesn’t like heights). What a great time!
The best part wasn’t just the exhibits, though — it was the couple at the front desk. They shared that the museum operates independently without government support, relying solely on visitors. They were warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about keeping this piece of Curaçao history alive.
If you have an hour or two to spare, skip one souvenir shop and head here instead.
Worth every penny.
And be sure to say hello to the lovely couple at the entrance — tell them the wandering cruise passengers sent you.
