John Smith's Bay Beach的点评
点评：Fabulous beach, nice combo with Spittal Pond Nature Reserve. This is the furthest you can get from the Dockyard (St. George is more easily reached via ferry), so not many other tourists. Very quiet.
The beach has public restrooms (with foot faucets outside). No changing rooms, but you can change in a bathroom stall. There is a stairway leading up to the facilities from the beach.
There is a food stand with AMAZING quality food and budget prices. Two burgers and two drinks for less than twenty USD, and the burgers were amongst the best tasting that we have had in years, wow! They could easily charge twice as much. Prices were half the price of Horseshoe Bay's food stand.
#1 bus will get you there. On the return to Hamilton, a bus passed us without stopping due to being full (perhaps due to the Caves/Grotto Bay stops, people heading back to Hamilton/Dockyard ferry). We opted to take a taxi back instead of waiting for another bus which might also be full.
We have been to Bermuda many times and we have been to most of its beaches. John Smiths is right up there with the Clearwater area beaches and the south short beaches between Warwick Long Bay and Horseshoe Bay. Not quite as dramatic as the those beaches, but still quite nice in its own special way.
Snorkeling along the south side of the beach was decent. The further out we went, the more fish we saw. Not a great variety of coral. Some of the better off beach snorkeling that we have seen, probably the best from a south shore beach.
