Sevierville's Harrisburg Covered Bridge, An East TN Gem

Built 1875, 83 feet long, 11.5 feet tall, and 14 feet wide
Crosses the East fork of the Little Pigeon River,
Easy public access and short drive from the Great Smoky Mountains
Being avid covered bridge enthusiasts, we traveled from the downtown area of Sevierville searching for an East TN gem heard about on social media. While it had been raining in the mountains that morning, soon the crisp mountain air made for a grand photo backdrop. We plugged in simply " Harrisburg Covered Bridge" into our GPS and were given easy directions to follow. When we arrived, we saw signs clearly posted declaring the land next to the bridge as private property and we both honored and respected that admonishment when making photos initially from only the quiet and unrushed roadbed. Soon, the properly owner, a nice older man and woman, came out to watch our photography and graciously offered their side yard as a better plane for viewing the grand old lady. We were very grateful for the opportunity and discovered that the homeowner was both a well traveled avid motor bike rider and photographer.
I found three bridges to explore, but if you can only visit one in your trip to Sevierville, make sure the Harrisburg Covered Bridge is one you seek. It is by far the best of the three we saw that day that included 1. Harrisburg Bridge, 2. Emerts Cove Bridge, and 3. an unknown named newer build at a local eatery. ( I offer review of the other two in a separate article.)
