Hebridean Island Hopping with Absolute Escapes

点评：A wonderful holiday island hopping through the Outer Hebrides, learning about the culture and history of this isolated area with spectacular views round every corner. I suggest this was “despite” rather than “because of” Absolute Escapes, who are Travel Agents flogging ferry tickets and accommodation. There is no Half Board option, so you still have to spend time looking for evening meals, which must be booked in advance, as few restaurants accept walk ins. To be fair they did ask if they could help after the ferry company told them our sailing had been cancelled, but by then we had already made alternative arrangements. The accommodation is kept secret until you have paid in full, so there is no chance to check it is suitable. A three storey hotel with no lift clearly wasn’t suitable for my wife who has a medical condition limiting her ability to climb stairs. Apart from such niggles, all the accommodation was first class (we did pay extra to upgrade) although the smaller the hotel, the more regulations and restrictions. I guess as we are over 70 and on a self drive tour, we are not really the company’s target market.
