点评:Little La Grange Farm is certainly off the beaten tourist path but well worth a stop. The house is full of charming details that capture life in a Danish colonial-era country house. Much has been preserved from the 19th and early 20th century heyday of the Lawaetz family, from the Danish newspapers and Danish Monopoly game to the polished wood furnishings that have been preserved in spite of relentless termites.
There's a lot to see here and our guide brought a genuine enthusiasm and knowledge not only of the house but of the island as a whole. She was also very considerate with my mother who has mobility challenges in helping her get in and out of the house.
Yes, the house could probably use some additional upkeep, but like much on St. Croix, the local government seems to have very limited funds for cultural preservation. At any rate, definitely with a visit!
