点评:On day 2 of my visit of Santo Domingo, I walked from my Guest House to the Malecon. It is about a 5-minute walk. My issue was how to cross the busy street as I did not see any crosswalk or stop light (Sanchez Street).
The walkways are wide and cemented, so no issues on walking or running. Attractions I noted along the way are monuments, Plaza Juan Barron with rides for children, a park with fountain, playground for children, the obelisk with beautiful paintings, Love Signage for Santo Domingo, 3 Swings, etc.
There are benches along the Malecon where one can rest and enjoy the ambience. Noted 2 restaurants nearby, enjoyed eating my Sencocho soup and fried plantains while watching the Carribean Sea.
I enjoyed my visit here. If you are looking for beaches, this is not the place for you. There is a lot of thrash at the beach area and no one was there during my visit.
