Good experience except the stale cake.

点评：Every month I take an elderly friend out for a trip and I always try and find a different place, where we can walk, talk and when she gets tired stop for drinks and cake. Hertfordshire came recommended
There is adequate parking, on rough ground which make the walk a little bit of a struggle, and I would not recommend for people with unstable walking or a wheelchair.
The garden centre is very nice, lots of flowers to see (oh, so very tempting), and a really nice shop. The staff were busy rushing from A to B and did not always give as much consideration for the elderly person walking very slowing around the place. They were busy, my friend is very slow walking, you cannot win.
We stopped for drinks and cake (the real reason for going:-). we received a very nice welcome and were shown to a table. Within a few minutes our order was taken, and the member of staff checked for allergies etc (very good).
The food and drinks arrived very quickly and were very well presented. Unfortunately the cake (which claimed to have been made that day), was stale by 9:30am, a slight dent in an otherwise excellent experience. Equally, the Rocky Road was to die for,
As I was paying the bill, I mentioned that stale cake, and the staff were not interested, which was disappointing.
On leaving, they had bags of used coffee grounds for your compost, which is a really nice way of recycling them and helping customers.
Overall, a very good experience.
