First time to Rum Point… left feeling disappointed and uncomfortable

点评：We’re staying on Seven Mile and decided to take the day to check out Rum Point for the first time. Beautiful spot, but unfortunately our experience didn’t start off well and honestly left a bad taste in our mouths. We went up to the host stand to ask about making a reservation for dinner and requested to sit outside. The host, who never smiled once, said she’d have to check. Eventually, she let us know she could get us a table outside, which we appreciated.
I then asked if the restaurant had any gluten free options since my daughter has celiac. She looked confused, which I understand not everyone is familiar with dietary restrictions so I politely asked to speak with a manager. That’s when she told me she was the manager.I wasn’t trying to be rude, but I’m not sure if she took offense because from that point on, her attitude got noticeably worse. She was short, dismissive, and even rolled her eyes at me right in front of my daughters. I asked for her name, and she didn’t respond. On the way out, I asked another staff member and found out her name was Ana.
For the record, I’ve never written a TripAdvisor review in my life. I’m not a tech guy at all my kids usually handle this kind of thing. But after this experience, I felt like I had to. I’ve never been treated like this on any vacation, and I’ve traveled a fair amount with my family. We ended up not coming back for our reservation. It just didn’t feel right after the way we were treated.
We came hoping to make a great family memory instead, we left feeling completely uncomfortable. Definitely not what you expect from a place like this.
