点评:This historic building dating back to 1908 is the highlight of the seafront at Whitley Bay. It has a colourful and interesting history, but recently renovated. The inside is stunning, with a main restaurant under the dome with additional smaller coffee, cocktail and dining rooms. There are rooms to hire for private events and weddings, and if you are lucky to be married there you can get private access to the roof top for your photos, otherwise the general public are not allowed up there. The roof top dancing ladies are currently not there (2025) due to storm damage, but the original ones are housed inside so you can view them close up.
It's a great place for all ages as there is lift access up to the second floor, but it isn't dog friendly in the main areas. The Cenotaph and Tommy scuplture stands outside the main entrance way to Spanish City.
Definitely a place to visit if you are visiting the area.
