Amazing family friendly trip on the River Gambia

点评：I organised a trip with Fair Play Gambia along with my husband and 5 year old. We started our trip from Janjanbureh, along the river and finishing near River Gambia National Park.
From the very first message communication and organisation has been seamless, with different options offered for the trip. I thought that the price was reasonable, meals basic but tasty as were the rooms. A highlight was picking fresh mangos of the trees.
The trip was 2 nights and 3 days, which was perfect with a young child also with us. We arrived later than expected - and were able to push the tour of Janjanbureh back so we could go for a refreshing swim in the lake, it was great to be on the river, which was calm and beautiful.
The following day we took a trip to the town to learn about the history (note, that tips are expected at each spot of the tour, and do take cash if you can), and then travelled by a small and simple boat along the river to see monkeys. It was relaxing, food was delicious and plentiful and the guides were excellent.
Each section of the trip was well thought out, planned and delivered. While it's not 5* luxury, it's perfect for a river trip that has the mix of being both relaxing and adventurous. If I was to return, I'd definitely look to do a longer trip along the river.
I want to thank the team and staff who were so accommodating and friendly, we really had a great time as did my child, and I'd book with Fair Play Gambia again in the future.
