I had the most wonderful weekend basket making with Irene at Greenroad Gardens.
First of all, what a beautiful place. The gardens are so peaceful and full of character, and from the moment I arrived, it felt like stepping into a completely different world. It was the kind of place where you can properly slow down, forget everything else for a while, and become fully present.
Irene is a fantastic teacher. She is warm, patient, generous with her knowledge, and clearly has such a deep love for what she does. She explained everything so well, gave just the right amount of guidance, and created a really lovely atmosphere where everyone felt able to learn and enjoy the process.
The whole weekend felt completely immersive. There was something very special about working with natural materials, learning a traditional craft, and being surrounded by Irene’s wonderful garden. It was relaxing, creative, and absorbing in the best possible way.
An extra bonus was the beautiful food. Lunches and teas were served with such care, and it made the whole experience feel even more special and welcoming.
I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested in basket making, creativity, gardens, or simply taking time out to do something nourishing and different. Irene is a generous and inspiring teacher, and Greenroad Gardens is a very special place.
