Amazing and well designed museum detailing rescue before the Coast Guard was founded
U.S. Life Saving Station 30的点评
点评:The Ocean City Life Guard Station is a very underrated museum. The museum is the former Life Guard Station from the turn of the last century and depicts life of the station master and his crew of seven in rescuing boats and ships and people who were trapped.
The first floor shows the kitchen, dining room, station masters room and the two rooms where all the equipment was held. It was so well organized because one of the docents said they had the whole buildings inventory list from 1909 that they had each detail taken care of in the displays.
The second floor is the sleeping bunkers and shows the life of these men that was 24/7. The top floor was closed and that was the look out tower. One man had to be on watch at all times. It was a very interesting look at life at that time.
The only bad part of the tour was one docent hounded myself and another set of visitors and would not let us just look around at the displays. He memorized the script so well he would not stop talking.
