Wouldn't do it again but worth it for the story!

点评：Tried this because Red Shirts were sold out. Felt like we paid a premium for what ended up being a pretty rickety cart. They couldn't keep it from shutting down and it died a couple minutes away from the place. They replaced it with another one that would take 20 seconds to get going again if I came to a complete stop. Yes, they are noisy gas carts. Also, it's not just a quick jaunt to get into town or the beach. It's like a 20+ minute cart ride on streets with cars and sometimes more isolated roads.
They have a deal with El Capitan Mono to give free tequila shots and beach/lounger access to their customers. While I'm sure they get kickbacks on stuff you order, this is part of the golf cart offering. So the woman who was distraught about the guy on the motorcycle calling her name, I think that's what this was...the guy from the golf cart company trying to make sure you got there (I think they assume most people are taking golf carts because they want to get to the beach). We had originally planned on Krazy Lobster but I would assume the experience at Capitan Mono was not far from that.
They tried to charge me an 18% surcharge with currency conversion. They said everyone uses different exchange rates. I argued with them a bit but ultimately the price on my contract said $100 so that's what I expected. Bank charge comes in at $118. Kicker is that they didn't even charge in pesos so there was no conversion rate issue anyway. They straight up just added $18 before running my card.
Anyway, it was a fun afternoon and I don't regret it. Next time I'll take a cab but I'm glad to have the story and the pictures and the experience.
