Don’t Miss This Waterfall Hike!

点评：My mom and I went on this hike and absolutely loved it! We took the #6 public bus from St. George's (which runs to Grenville) and asked to be dropped off at the waterfall entrance. The entrance fee for the hike was 5 EC per person, or $2 USD. They did offer guide services, but we decided to explore on our own. Walking sticks were provided for free, which was a nice touch. The man at the entrance gave us directions to find the trailhead: "Follow the road and take a left at the last building (St. Margaret's Hike building). When you reach the mango tree, go right." With that, we headed off. The small grassy trail to the left of the "last building" was the trickiest to spot, but some nearby workers pointed us in the correct direction. The hike to the waterfall is downhill with some muddy patches, so watch your footing. Some sections have steps, which make it easier to navigate. The forest scenery is beautiful and shaded, and we didn't even need bug spray. According to my Strava, the entire hike took about 46 minutes round trip and was roughly 1.5 miles. The waterfall itself is stunning-- definitely take a swim in the pools! The water was so refreshing. We relaxed there for a while, had a snack, and then made our way back up. The return climb is uphill, but it wasn't too tough. On the way back, we were lucky enough to spot a few monkeys playing in a bamboo grove--a fun surprise! We caught another #6 bus back to St. George's (5EC per person ride). It was much less crowded in the afternoon compared to our morning ride, which had been packed. Overall, this was a beautiful, easy-to-moderate hike that I'd highly recommend to anyone visiting Grenada!
