点评：This queer 1916 Cottage is slap bang in the middle of town and it was a Siren calling us to park our feet and look into this authentic town home with everything in its decay and simplicity as though looking through a window.
Wander around the relic and snap shots of this wartime construct of corrugated iron walls and roof that seems like a John Murray portrait painted on a billboard like an open advertisement. Because that it actually what it is today.
Look to the right and you will see some enterprising entrepreneurs have their office for COOPER COTTAGES. Walk to the back and see five Cooper Cottages that are available for rent. This is part of the new wave of prosperity sweeping into Lightning Ridge.
You feel it in the magnificent John Murray Gallery, the IGA supermarket with its city feel, the refurbishment of the Bowling club. Though not open yet Peter ( Opal Hunter) Cooks’ new Mini Golf course shares this Renaissance.
There is a certain optimism to make LR feel more inviting and less isolated. It’s a vibe of rural towns that are reinventing themselves rather than fading.
