Bombala Platypus Reserve的点评
点评：We arrived via the Monaro Highway, when it ends and you come to Delegate Road, there is a sign indicating to turn left. It was in the back of my mind that I had not arranged accommodation for the night, but my daughter really wanted to see it and so did I. I followed the road for a short way and then turned right into the reserve.
It's in a very pretty place... they have put picnic tables there and a lookout viewing deck. There is reasonable car parking area ... even if you are towing a caravan or boat. Roads into and out of the reserve are very good.
There are two bird hides located in the reserve, they are very basic. Cootes, diamond fire tails and white breasted sea-eagles are seen in the area.
We made our way to the viewing deck and overheard a conversation that a lady had just had a quick glimpse of one about ten minutes earlier. We watched the water (got sidetracked looking around at the beautiful scenery) and saw nothing. Then my daughter ventured down closer to the water.
She remained focused on the water and finally I walked down to where she stood, I could see the disappointment on her face that she wasn't able to locate one as she stalked the water's edge. I then pointed to a platypus and said, "There it is , it's actually watching you". But it moved on at the sound of my voice.I don't think initially I realised how important it was that I saw it, I was focused on my daughter's disappointment.
I have visited many places purported to have platypus and had never seen one. Whilst I never got a photo... I will remember the moment I saw it.
It is recommended on the website that early morning or late afternoon is the best time to see one.

我去过很多据说有鸭嘴兽的地方，但从未见过。虽然我从未拍过照片……但我会记住我看到它的那一刻。
