点评:The famous Bayeux tapestry is a propaganda that argue for the claim of Viliam the Conquerors’to the throne of England. In the little remote village of Sysslebäck in the north of the county of Värmland, 10 women made a very similar tapestry 25 years ago. It is 40 meters long compared to the Bayeux tapestries 70 meter and it took them 2 years to complete. They made it in honour of the 1000-year jubilee of the tradition of pilgrim travel to the Nidaros cathedral in Trondheim Norway. Sysslebäck was a stop on this way. It is very interesting and extremely impressive. In the pictures it covers the 1000 years from the death of St Olof to today. We saw the Bayeux tapestry earlier this year and they are very similar and with the same quality. So, a visit to this remote village is well worth it. What makes it even more worth is the small café and the ladies that run the museum, bake the bread, and make the sandwiches and the waffles and serve them. They are extremely nice and competent. I did really appreciated the nice ham and cheese sandwich on the excellent home baked bread.
