点评:Located at a huge building ( former barracks) near the Castillo San Felipe del Morro this attraction could be included in one’s list of places to visit in Old Town San Juan.
Currently, there is a lot of construction going on in the building, quite dusty and loud sound of constructions persisted during my visit. There is a minimal entrance fee, reduced to $4.00 for children and seniors.
The exhibits vary from one room to another. Room #1 show statues of different groups of indigenous people in the Caribbeans and South America. Explanations of exhibits are both in Spanish and English.
The other rooms show some paintings, Africa and trading of slaves, religious wood carvings, some current music and dances, etc.
I would definitely visit this museum again once the constructions are completed to see the changes that have been implemented and determine if there are any new restaurants and stores that recently open.
