点评:Compared with its somewhat pricey next door neighbour, V&A Dundee is totally free to enter. Which is why, when I was there, it appeared that half of Dundee's student population were taking advantage of free WiFi and water in the Tatha cafe.
Certainly the building itself is striking, both externally and internally. The café has a great view over the river and the Tay Bridge across to Broughty Ferry.
I was here principally to see Charles Rennie Mackintosh's Oak room, which I was disappointed not to see at Glasgow's Kelvingrove Museum last year. It is as lovely as I remember from my youth and the young member of staff to whom I chatted, recent graduate in English and Film from Dundee University, had clearly done her homework.
Design is not especially my thing, but I am glad that I came although, even wearing just a shirt on my top half, I found the building horribly hot.
