点评：I want to give a HUGE positive shout-out to Julinho,not because he is an excellent and extensively experienced guide (although I am quite certain that is true). Rather, my experience with Julinho attests to the fact that he is a genuine, caring individual and one who has a strong interest in assuring that people have a positive experience in the Pantanal. Although I was not his client, he agreed to watch out for me in my little Fiat 2WD city car as we drove back to Pouso Alegre after a heavy rain made the road almost impassable. In fact it not only rained on the afternoon of the day I was expecting to leave, but also the next morning as well. Nonetheless we set off in tandem down the road and it was a massive comfort to me knowing that Julinho and the big Pantanal Trackers 4WD truck was there to help at the flash of my headlights if I ran into trouble. In fact I did get stuck a total of 3 times before finally arriving back at Pouso Alegre but fortunately was able to self-extract each time with a little knowledgeable advice provided by Julinho. The key point is that I was not Julinho's client, He had absolutely no responsiblity nor need to commit his time and help to me. However, he did it out of goodness of heart and made my whole experience not only much safer, but even fun (at least when I look back on it after the fact). So it is on the basis of his clear willingness to help others that I want to give my highest commendation to Julinho. It is one thing to be a highly skilled professional guide, but it another higher level entirely when you take actions to support visitors to your home turf, whether they are paying clients or just some random person asking for help. Thanks Julinho I very much appreciate your efforts and time and also the effort you put into trying to improve the ethics of wildlife observation and photography as practiced in the Pantanal. Keep up your great work!!
