Nice visitors center, just stay on the paved road till you find it.

点评：This place is very difficult to find if you follow your GPS map on your cell phone. Whatever you do, do not leave the paved road before you get to the visitor's center at the end. All of the maps we tried took us out into the bush, which was a whole other adventure. Thank god we had a 4-wheel drive Jimmy that was small enough to turn around when the grass on the road got up to hood height. If you follow directions to The Mountain View Restaurant, the Sage Mountain visitor center is across the street, and the trailhead is right next to it. The road and parking area is paved, so if your GPS says turn onto a dirt and grass road, just keep going.
The visitor's center is where you pay your $5 to access the lookout and bathrooms. They have a nice gift shop as well, with plenty of cool swag. There are a lot of hiking trails, and I would characterize them as moderate to advanced difficulty. I highly recommend bringing a walking stick if you are going to climb to the highest point. The trail is steep, rocky, muddy, and slippery. High-top hiking boots are recommended to protect your ankles. Believe me, you will need a walking stick. If I lived locally, I'd make them and ask to sell them in the gift shop.
They also have a place to wash your shoes or boots off after your hike, which is a very nice touch and well worth the $5 admission cost. They also have very nice and clean bathrooms.
We did eventually reach the highest point. The peak is completely covered in trees, so there is no view of the whole island (a little disappointing), but when we found the conrete and steel post we thought marked the peak, we felt accomplished.
