点评:Our time with Steve and Gerri on their boat learning about what they do was definitely the highlight of our visit to the Yorke Peninsula and without doubt worth the early morning rise. They are such easy people to be with and it was good fun chatting so freely with them, hearing so much about the industry and jumping in and helping out – not that Steve would have considered our ‘help’ all that invaluable I don’t think!!!!?? A patient man I suspect!
We would highly recommend to anyone to go and be a ‘deckie for a day’. It’s a great value experience if you are an oyster lover and extremely interesting. Of course it is not a full day, it is only a couple of hours – but a fantastic two hours to spend.
Gerri showed us how to shuck oysters which is not as simple as you might think – a bit embarrassing really given the ‘millions’ of oysters we have eaten over the years that we only learned this skill now…………
Note: Pacific Estate oysters are served in the lovely Dalrymple Hotel in Stansbury if you want to continue your oyster fun, and better having someone to shuck them : )
