点评：Highlight of our 23 day trip to Indonesia so far. Spent 4 hours here, first making offerings and then batik painting. Offering class was with Junie and wayan…they make it look easy to shape young coconut leaves and bamboo staples into elaborate decorations and then fill with traditional flowers. But they are infinitely patient and encouraging to those of us with clumsy hands. Junie speaks excellent English which makes it easier to follow directions. After making the offerings we were allowed to place our offerings in their shrines!
Batik painting starts with a traced design or freehand onto fabric followed by traditional wax application then water coloring. This was taught by another expert, who knew when to help and when to let us learn.
During the classes we were offered tea, water and delicious snacks/desserts. Altogether unique, educational, and fun!!!
