For a Great Time, Call Shawn for Scuba Diving
Soul Immersions Dive Centre的点评
点评：I did the usual research into dive operators before leaving home. I found that Antigua had a number of good operators, with Dive Carib appearing to be the choice. They had a staff with impressive resumes and large boats. Unfortunately, upon arriving in Antigua, we found that they were booked for most of the week that we were there.
Disappointed, I called Shawn at Soul Immersions. My disappointment turned to glee over the week because we found a gem of a dive operation. We really liked this operator. A lot.
Shawn had a smaller boat, but it was quite adequate for nine divers on a 2-tank morning. The boat had a partial overhead cover, a single powerful outboard engine, and a single ladder for exits. We did back rolls for entry.
The shop was convenient. It was right on Dockyard Drive across the street from the gas station and the boat dock. Also, nearby were restaurants and hotels including ours at Southpoint which was only a 10-minute walk away.
We found that Shawns rates were very reasonable and his reviews and ratings were right up there. He also has a very well trained and experienced staff. Neville and Rashawn were on our boat, and we really liked them - both excellent dive masters and boat captains.
The dives were very good. Shawn caters to his clients. He made everything easy for me and my girlfriend. We have dive experience, but we are in our 70's. He made our dives both safe and fun. On a single day, we saw 3 black tip sharks within 40' of us, an eagle ray, and some sting rays, eels, and cuttlefish. Just another day in paradise.
What made our week was Shawn. Sure, he was very professional, had tremendous experience, exhibited patience with clients, and was very knowledgeable. (He gave us so much information on scuba diving, diving in Antigua, and everything and everybody on Antigua.) And yet, he was very personable, likable and funny. Well maybe not as funny as Neville, but still funny. Yes, we had a good time.
