Only five days, but undoubtedly the best tour of our lives.

点评：Outstanding in every respect.
Upul gave us a suggested itinerary some weeks before for our 5 day tour of the southern half of Sri Lanka, we discussed and modified this slightly over WhatsApp, and made a plan together. In effect Upul created a one off guided tour to precisely meet our needs - much better than we could have achieved had we paid for a very high end tour with a premium operator.
From the moment we met in Colombo airport our every need was attended to, in the friendliest of manners. Upul was much more structured and organised than we could ever have been and always attentive to our welfare - at the start of every journey he checked we had mobile phones, chargers and critical documents with us. When we left the car we were shepherded through traffic and across roads safely.
The trips which Upul recommended were all superb. He ensured we got the best seats on the Calypso Express; had a private jeep with a lunchtime individually prepared picnic at the safari park; and a boat to ourselves on the river cruise. At restaurants we had the best tables, our bags (we had way too many and they were heavy) were always carried to/from our room and carefully checked.
We drove a long way on our short tour of Sri Lanka, so it was important that we were comfortable in the car. I'm a bad passenger, preferring to be behind the wheel myself. Not on this occasion. Upul was a consummate professional driver, safe, smooth and courteous to other road users. We both felt totally comfortable with him behind the wheel. He was excellent at pointing out places of interest, and also modifying the tour to show us additional highlights that were not on our initial itinerary
At the end of the holiday it felt like leaving a close friend behind. I can not recommend Sri Lanka Dream Tour too highly.
We will return to Sri Lanka - in part to see the northern areas which we did not have time to see on this tour, but also in to renew our acquaintance with Upul, who genuinely made our holiday for us.
