Fantastic find tucked away in an East Sussex idyll

点评：Combined our vineyard visit with a trip on the Spa Valley railway in Tunbridge Wells. The combination was perfect! The vineyard is small and not as commercial as others we’ve visited. That’s not a negative- it’s absolutely charming and we were beautifully looked after by the owners and their families. Because of this, everything is really personal and the owner, when he talks about his vines, is truly speaking from the heart. We tasted 3 different home grown wines and paid extra for a glass of their fizz (fab) and shared a delicious cheese platter. Suffice to say the wine is so good that we bought as much to take home as we could carry, with promises to order more for Christmas.
If you’re thinking about visiting, the walk to the vineyard is quite steep and rutted. Fine for me (and I’m not especially fit) but if you have walking difficulties or have pushchairs etc the accessibility might be tricky. Vineyards are effectively grape farms - so the site itself is also sloped.
Overall, I can’t recommend this trip highly enough - especially when combined with the train. If you can, definitely think about visiting!
