点评：This small, free, museum is packed with fascinating, but accessible, geology, presented in a humorous and friendly way. My wife is fascinated by the topic, and a scientist to boot, and it did not disappoint her. I am not (I am a historian, and honestly have little knowledge or specific interest in this science) yet found this a wonderful and worthwhile place to visit. It really is a must-see for anyone in this area, whether you are interested specifically in geology or simply in knowing more about the wonderful part of the world you have found yourself in!
The owner, Dr. Björn S Hardarson, is friendly and helpful - someone who not only loves his subject and work, but has the rare and special talent of being able to convey that to others and encourage them to feel the same way.
The exhibit is interactive, hands-on, and engaging - with the chance to handle the different stones and look at them through microscopes. This is precisely what a museum should be. There were some books available to buy, including guides for the adult and children's books which looked like they really could inspire young minds. I left feeling like I should make an effort to be more interested, and my wife would not stop talking about rocks for days!
