点评:Overall, a fun activity if you’re in the area. You must stop at the Mt. Equinox Welcome Center to pay for your drive up and get a token to open the gate. I read some reviews that people thought it was a bit pricey for what you’re getting, but we actually thought it was fair after we learned more about the area. First, it’s a vacation area in the summer & fall- so if you’re visiting, you should prepare to spend money. Second, it’s a privately owned area by the monastery, so we felt it was a donation of sorts.
The Welcome Center has bathrooms, snacks for purchase, and small gifts to buy. The drive was beautiful with pull offs along the way.
At the top of Mt. Equinox, there is another small ‘two story center’ where you can learn about the history of the area. This is a newer building with bathrooms, info desk and snacks/drinks for purchase. Tables and areas to picnic at the top. We enjoyed a picnic lunch and the picturesque views. Our teenagers enjoyed this too. Don’t waste your time or money going on an overcast or cloudy day.
