点评：The tour started from Aigai Kum guesthouse (44.155065, 78.751775) in Bashi Village with the 4-wheel drive of our guide, not a local guide. It was a 1-hour drive on asphalt roads to Kosbastau Post where an old willow tree stands. After another half-hour drive, we reached the entrance to Altyn Emel National Park. Over rough (washboard) roads (a 4-wheel drive is recommended), we proceeded to the Katytau Mountains and the parking area south of Aktau Mountains (43.991638, 79.240158).
Here, there are shelters. Through the dry riverbed, we could walk through the mountains. We started the hike 3 hours after leaving the guesthouse. After 75 minutes and 4.5 km of walking (44.016087, 79.240753), I turned back. In the early part of the route, the mountains displayed vibrant colors, later turning more white with multiple horizontal layers. The mountains under the blue sky with occasional clouds were breathtakingly beautiful. The Aktau Mountains were by far the most stunning sight in the east of Kazakhstan that we visited, even more beautiful than the already impressive Charyn Canyon.
On the hike, we saw two returning tourists, after which we had the mountains to ourselves. Walking through the riverbed was easy with no steep sections. Getting lost was not possible, so a guide for the hike was not necessary.
Total time tour 7 hours.
