Good value for the ferry over to Put in Bay. Kids are a bargain $3 round trip (up to age 11) and $18 round trip for adults. You can save a substantial sum of money choosing this ferry over Jet express, especially if you have a family. Parking is also free but you need to make sure you don’t park in the $10 pay lot.
Downside: Ferry dock is about a ten minute farther drive than the Jet express dock if coming from the West (Toledo or Michigan). Also, where the ferry lets you off is at the far Southern end of the island instead of downtown.
However, there are three different places to rent golf carts near the dock and a bus that will take you downtown for $3/person. About a 10-15 minute golf cart ride to the downtown area from the dock.
Seating was located on the upper deck and included an outside and enclosed area. 20 minute ride to Put in Bay. You can buy tickets online but you still need to stop at ticket booth to trade in online voucher for physical tickets. Make sure you keep your ticket stub for return trip.
