点评:Along the coast between Koutalas and Megalo Livadi you see many entrances to the mines, and outside you will see remants of mining activities like wagons, rails and loading bridges. You can access the mines. Some entrances seem blocked on purpose, so are probably not safe. But on the trail from Malliadiko Beach to Kalogeros Beach there are some mines that seem relatively safe. However there is no lightning at all, often there are rocks on the ground, and there are side tunnels so it is easy to get lost. I understood that some tunnels have collapsed. So I would recommend to carry a good flash light, take a spare one with you, carefully watch where you are going and do not go in to deep. There is one tunnel near Kalogeros Beach where a chilly wind is going through. I understood this tunnel is appr 900 meters long and going to the opposite side of the peninsula. However I turned after appr 150 meters when the rails were disappearing under fallen rocks. I understood there are several crossing tunnels, some leading to dangerous parts of the mine, so be very carefull when trying to go through. But I loved this exciting experience! The mining museum in Megalo Livado is under construction and is closed.
