点评：This museum had been recommended to us by friends who visited a week ago. We had planned a visit to a NT property in the area, so made an early start in order to visit Oakhams too.
It was well worth it, and we are so glad we made the effort.
Before we explored the vast collection, we enjoyed a very nice meal in the cafe served by friendly staff. Then we began our tour of the beautifully displayed memorabilia. A huge room full of tractors, tractor seats from all over the world. The smaller display cabinets were filled with themed items, thimbles, shaving mugs,cigarette packets, drinks cans, miniature spirit bottles.I could go on and on. Our family ran an ironmongers shop for over 40 years so I was fascinated by the well ordered displays of nuts, bolts, screws, hinges, brackets. Very artistic. We also enjoyed reading the many old newspapers telling of important events, many of them we remember being born in the forties. A most enjoyable few hours.
