Good food spoiled by team attitude

点评：We’ve been quite a few times living locally and always enjoyed the experience. We thought we would pop in for lunch this week and as usual ordered a black coffee and tea with the order. The drinks were served when ordered so tried whilst we waited for the food and the coffee was not the normal taste and I really didn’t like it. It resembled some very poor quality powdered coffee I’ve been given. I pointed this out when the food arrived and the nice young lady expressed concern and offered a replacement so I asked for a tea to play safe.
I was surprised when she came back to say there’s nothing wrong with the coffee as lots of people drink it so I couldn’t have a replacement. I was in the middle of eating so didn’t say much but went to the counter after eating to ask for the manager. I was told by a ( I presume) a more senior staff member)he was on lunch but the whole stance and body language was challenging when she said again there’s nothing wrong with the coffee made on that machine. She said they do have powdered decaf but the regular is fresh ground and it’s tough if it’s not to your taste basically.
When I pointed out the coffee looked it was from the hot water and powder side this dismissed
A subsequent email complaint met with the same response so all I can say is please don’t expect anything like a concerned or engaging response if you do need to complain there. They are quite happy to throw away all our future business over a cup of coffee to make a point so I think there are plenty of other places around that do value customers.
