Reteti Elephant Sanctuary的点评
点评：We recently visited Reteti Elephant Sanctuary as a day trip from Samburu National Park. This was part of a seven-day Safari with Sunworld Safaris. At first, the drive there seemed long, and we wondered where we were going but when we arrived, we quickly recovered from our African massage, as everything was wonderful. We had been to the David Sheldrick center on a previous trip to Kenya, but this was so much more informative and authentic.
Naomi was a personal guide for the tour, and it was inspiring to meet her and hear about her experience of working at the Sanctuary. She was extremely knowledgeable, and it was hard to believe that she had just finished the local secondary school and had learnt everything on the job.
We were lucky as after our visit to Reteti, we headed to Loisaba Conservancy. This is where two of the elephants at Refeti were first found, including the famous Long’uru, who lost his truck. While we were in Loisaba we were able to meet David Saruni who in charge of the team who first rescued Long’uru and we also saw photos of his rescue. This made our trip to Reteti even more special.
After visiting the Sanctuary, we had a very pleasant picnic lunch at the amazing Elephant rock painted by French artist Mantra. Highly recommend this trip and even though it is a bumpy road ,the experience outweighs the little discomfort you may feel.
