Impressive castle, below average visitor experience

点评：Start with the positives this is a beautiful set of impressive buildings at the top of a massive hill. I guess we should have enquired at the car park shop but the walk up from the car park was insane! Very steep walk up many steps and slopes and while it was an achievement I suppose, we didn’t all enjoy it.
At the gate our online bar codes were scanned hurriedly and we were given no information about where to go or what was ahead, and there were no signs. It was obviously “up” still and so we climbed the stone ramps and steps.
Cool views from the castle itself, but again no info on where to go or how to get around the castle and what to see. It was only when we were told to remove our bags and take them to the information office which is hidden away in the bottom of one of the buildings that we got any info. There the lady was really helpful; she stowed our bags and gave us maps and a guide in English. That was appreciated because up to that point, apart from following others, we had no idea where to go.
So then we toured the interior areas which were well-kept and interesting, but only some of the signs were in English, which would have been nice as although I speak good German, the rest of the family doesn’t.
We went to the food area and there was very little choice, just cake or ice cream. There is a restaurant but we didn’t feel like spending much more as the entry had cost the 4 of us around €55.00 (or approx AUD$88.00).
Overall impression - nice castle but we only accessed part of it, the information and general experience was relatively poor considering the high cost of entry. The castle grounds, beer garden area and courtyard were all nicely kept. The shop had some nice things and was very welcoming.
