点评:When dropped at NJP, owing to extensive “upgradation” work to the station, use the left path into the station and up the overhead bridge. I made the mistake of walking towards the right and as such found myself walking through a selection of shops. This is very poorly signposted and for a UNESCO world heritage site, I still had not seen a single mention of the toy train. Sighting the tracks from the right overhead bridge did not even give me confidence I was in the right place as all I saw were standard gauge tracks. No lifts or escalators in sight so it's up and down some flights of stairs - made harder with bags.
I walked up to an IR officer to enquire and I had a rattle of Hindi response - which I had to play back in English (for I speak no Hindi) coupled with hand gestures. I was to proceed down the platform, and to the left and up the overhead bridge to the toy train platform; and so I went on. This time an escalator was present which made my ascent somewhat easier.
Found the toy train platform and got the train to Darjeeling. NJP is a mess at present and I hope that after the upgrades, things will be better!
